Zoom is a kid’s TV remote control and movie channel. The system was designed around child psychology with an emphasis on discovery, surprise, and physical action. The result feels like a magic wand that responds to gestures (including panning left-right-up-down and zooming) and features voice control and sound effects. Children can playfully peek through the light ring to point and select a movie. All controls are symmetrically aligned for left or right-hand use and have been downsized for child-sized hands. The light ring changes color and motion patterns according to its commands and status. The remote also works with TCL’s new Zoom channel interface that uses layered navigation to quickly narrow down content from multiple streaming platforms into relevant choices based on age, gender, and interests.
“Zoom Remote combines fun with functionality. The remote control takes perfect advantage of children’s natural curiosity to help them navigate intuitively to suitable content."
