Director, Experience Design
Walker leads a dynamic, multidisciplinary team of designers, strategists, and researchers at Whipsaw. Under Walker's leadership, the team delivers solutions that solve critical product challenges that balance user and business needs. Walker loves to think about the broad strategic direction of Whipsaw programs and dig into the details of complex user flows, participatory design workshops, wireframing, and user interface design.
Before Whipsaw, Walker led global design projects for Apple within the Retail Online group. He focused on consumer e-commerce experiences and proprietary web application design including checkout, financing, Apple Trade In, Apple CMS, and customer support. He was also part of the founding team at Tive - a supply chain visibility start-up taking surprises out of the supply chain for manufacturers and shippers. Walker worked closely with hardware, software, marketing, and business development teams to launch and evolve the Tive hardware/software solution for customers to access real-time location and condition of in-transit shipments to drive supply chain efficiency. Other experiences include roles as a UX Designer at Rightpoint, a full-service digital agency, and as a Design Researcher with Frog in their NYC studio.
Throughout his career, Walker has partnered with teams across healthcare, biotech, fitness, consumer technology, professional services, and hospitality, including, Apple, GE, Johnson & Johnson, 7-Eleven, UPMC Hospitals, VCA Animal Hospitals, Cheetah, PacBio, Hyphen, Aescape and more.
Walker holds a B.S. in Engineering Psychology (HCI) and a minor in Entrepreneurship from Tufts University. In his free time, he enjoys finding new restaurants, riding the Sunset Loop in Marin, or touring the parks of San Francisco with his wife, daughter, and dog named Kaia.
